still trying to find DECENT BBQ in the EN area: this ain't it. full rack ribs, 1# brisket, 1# chicken, mac&cheese, potato salad: ~ $80. all meats overcooked and dry. ribs dessicated with NO FLAVOR. brisket: dry no flavor. chicken: ok. M&C also terrible. rolls and pot salad OK. WON'T BE BACK. unfortunately zachary's food ain't much better and is even mo expensive.

We got the full rack or ribs, macaroni and mash potatoes. I think the company must have hired new cooks. The ribs were great. They fell right off the bone and the spicy sauce was great. The mac and cheese was just okay. The potatoes were good.

Some good. Mostly bad on my first visit to Dickey's Barbecue Pit. Drove through the parking lot a few weeks ago and noticed it for the first time so I wanted to give it a try. I thought it was a little family owned spot, but after placing my order and looking at the giant souvenir cup they gave me and the pictures on the wall I realized I was wrong. That explained a lot of my curiosities about why the staff didn't know the ingredients in the food, why the food was packaged the way it was, and why the brisket was the same color as the pulled pork. Also had some issues with the menu, essentially causing a scene in the process as I was trying to understand their prices. Let me just get into the food. The good: -the spicy bbq sauce -the westerner two meat sandwich -the contraption that toasts and butters the roll at the same time -the mac n' cheese The average: -the baked beans -the original and sweet bbq sauces The bland: -brisket -pulled pork The bad: -the potato salad It's not all bad here, it really isn't, but if you find something you like, stick to it because a lot of the food isn't outstanding. I'd like to try the ribs possibly, but I don't have the most confidence that they'd be good. At the end of the day you got much better bbq in every direction when you think of Zachary's, The Lucky Well, or Phamous Phil's. Not to mention what's a half hour away in Center City.

Ordered through the website for pickup. Got home and noticed instead of the two meat platter I order with Beef brisket and Turkey breast. It was just a double order of the brisket. Seriously was confused as to why no one even decided to let me know that they either were out of the turkey or just didn't read the order slip correctly. I guess I will have to start going to some other bbq place as this place has the most incompetent staff. Made me drop my star rating down to the 1 star.

Wish I could give no stars. Waited for 10 minutes with only one customer else in the store. Was barely even acknowledged even though there were 3 employees standing with only 1 actually working. Glad I went to yelp while in line. Do not go. Just had to quietly walk out because I felt so bad for the pathetic service. Off to Bridgeport Rib House.

Awesome! Finally got a chance to stop in as we own a business very close to here. The staff was friendly and had suggestions of what we should try. The atmosphere was perfect and we finished everything on the plate! Great place!

If you're walking towards a BBQ restaurant and you don't smell the smoke outside you should immediately lower your expectations. That's what I did as I walked towards Dickey's. Now, once you got through the door you could smell the smoke but you'll also notice the sterilized Mom and Pop BBQ decor. It has the look of what a roadside BBQ joint looks like only it's been mass marketed so it losses it's charm. The menu offered standard BBQ fare along with all the sides you would expect. I chose a platter of brisket, pulled pork and spicy cheddar sausage with sides of baked beans and Mac & Cheese. This is my standard lets get to know you approach to BBQ. If these dishes don't stand out, then nothing else will. The gentlemen working the counter were attentive and helpful as well as quick to serve. So the service was good so far, which now leads to the food. - The Brisket There was a tiny pink ring around the meat showing it had spent some time in the smoker. Unfortunately, after the smoker it jumped into a steam tray, which robbed this could be delicious slice of BBQ of any flavor it developed in the smoker. In turn it became overcooked and under seasoned. - The Pulled Pork I'm sure this meat spent some time in the smoker, but nothing about how it tasted have any indication of it. The meat was very bland by itself and greatly needed some assistance from some BBQ sauce to give it any kind of flavor. - The Spicy Cheddar Sausage It was spicy, it had cheddar and it was sausage. What it wasn't was warm in any way, nor was the cheese melted. The spicy seemed to come from it being heavily peppered and I think some jalapeños. - The Baked Beans The beans were a saving grace. The beans themselves were a good texture but the sauce was slightly sweet. - The Mac & Cheese The cheese was gooey and warm which nicely complimented the macaroni that was slightly al dente. However it was slightly under seasoned just needing a little salt. Overall, the meal was OK. Not terrible, but nothing to repeat.

My wife and I ordered food from here last night and we were far from pleased with the selection of slop the served up. Problem 1: My wife ordered a stuffed potato which was completely green and frozen-cold in the middle, also all the sides she requested with the potato were never given to us. Pictures of the nasty potato can been seen below. Problem 2: I ordered two sandwiches, one just pulled pork and the other a spicy cheddar sausage with shredded cheddar cheese on the sandwich; when i got home the spicy cheddar had no shredded cheese like i requested and all of the meat was over cooked and dry. For paying 38$ for all of our food and being this dissatisfied I don't think we'll be visiting this restaurant again. I highly suggest you try Zacharys BBQ which is right down the street and has never let me down.

The ribs weren't bad (tasty and tender), but the sides need a LOT of work. What is it with folks just pouring Velveeta over macaroni?

Short story: good food, bad service at this particular location. Full story: On two different occasions -- and there will NOT be a third -- my wife ordered food online from Dickey's, and about 45 minutes later, I showed up on my way home from work to pick up the food. On both occasions, I had to wait about 10 minutes for my order to be put together, and both times, I had to wonder why. What happens from the time an order is placed online, to the time the customer walks through the door? The only thing I should have to wait for is any other customers being helped ahead of me... I can handle that, since it's only fair. But once that's done, my order should be bagged and ready to go so I can walk right out the door. That didn't happen... I have to wonder if that ever happens. The second time I went to Dickey's to pick up an online order, I was greeted politely and asked if I could be helped. I told the young lady I was picking up an online order. She asked if my name was Pat, and I said no. I gave my name and my wife's name, then gave my last name. It took her and two other employees about a full minute to figure out what I ordered. And then they took 10 minutes to put it together. The young lady let me know that they were out of the chicken we ordered, but I could substitute something else free of charge. Having also ordered pulled pork, I chose brisket. But that never made its way into my bag. And while she did give me a $5 off coupon for my inconvenience, that doesn't make it ok to not give me what I was told I would get. So while my wife and I definitely enjoyed the food, which was at a reasonable price, it's not worth the really bad service. I regrettably have to conclude that the people that work there are idiots. Or maybe they have bad work ethic. In any case, they do discredit to a good chain, and for that reason, I won't be going there again.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! Unfriendly, and completely incompetent. Spend $6.50 for a "garden salad" that is only lettuce, shredded cheese, and croutons - oh hell no. Took forever to get our food, and the bitchy, non smiling cashier quit during our visit. Sionara!!! Beef brisket is pretty good! Pulled pork was completely flavorless, and the barbecue beans taste like Heinz non barbecue beans. The service must improve. On a Friday night at 6 PM to be out of Ribs, and Mac n Cheese, is unbelievable - and unacceptable!! The employees weren't communicating with each other, so mistakes were being made left and right. People were waiting a really long time to get their "fast food" (it's all ready, just cut, scoop, and serve!!!). I'd like to see grilled chicken - there is cut chicken breast, which looked bone dry. They actually lost my Sandwich! When they located it, because the cashier had left, the sandwich sat for 5 minutes while I was looking at it, and finally I had to tell the guy cutting the meat to "please hand me my sandwich NOW". This place isn't for me.......

First time to any dickeys BBQ joints. Customer service was good, menu board was slightly confusing to understand but maybe that's just me. Good lunch specials, I got a brisket sandwich on a plate with 2 sides and a drink for $12.50. Not bad for BBQ. I would like to come back and try some other meats. Free ice cream too? Im down

***Good example of Texas (Smoked) Sausages & KC Style Ribs. (3.5) ~ Good overall food & service. OUR MENU: MEATS: * Kansas City Style Ribs = (4) very good. KC Ribs are trimmed even more closely than St. Louis style ribs, and have the hard bone removed, but they're still meatier than baby backs;) And they tend to have little or no dry rub, but make up for it with a lot of Smokey notes. You'll want to use one of their Wet Sauces, at the side counter for these, specifically the Original BBQ Sauce;) * Polish Sausage = (3.5) good example of Texas BBQ & the Spicy Cheddar one is really good too. * Beef Brisket = (3) ok...but too dry:( SAUCES: * Original BBQ Sauce = (4) very good balance of sweet & heat;) * Hot BBQ Sauce = (3.5) good * Sweet BBQ Sauce = (3) ok SIDES: * Fried Onion Tanglers = (4) very good * Mac-n-Cheese = (3.5) good...but I like a little crust in mine for texture * Bread(roll) = (3) ok...but a little bland DRINKS: * Unsweetened Tea = (4) very good * Sweet Tea = (3.5) good, but too sweet for me DESSERT: * Pecan Pie = (4) very good NOTE: There's plenty of Seating inside plus (2) TV's, but you can also order Take-out online. I'd recommend getting the (2) Meat Plate w. (2) sides. The Ribs & Sausages are a good start;) And keep an eye out for their Daily Specials Board when you walk in...

I ordered lunch on line with 2 other colleagues from work. The order form was easy to fill out and was done in a jiffy- you can even order as guest. Unfortunately the site does not tell you when the food will be ready as does Salad Works. My colleagues waited 10 minutes and drove about 10 minutes to pick it up. To their surprise, the food was not ready and the staff had not even started to put the order together. The walk in line cleared out by the time the order was ready. The staff was very apologetic. The ironic thing is the site says"why wait in line - order on line!" I'll update this review when I have a chance to eat there. The food was above average - hence the 3 stars for chain restaurants. The portions were big - I got the pulled pork and chopped brisket and it must have been about a pound. Both were moist and had nice smoke flavor. The hot BBQ sauce I expected to be more spicy and tasted generic I got 2 sides - mac and cheese and fried okra both were fresh and hot. Cost about $12 for the 2 meat 2 side platter - I could have 2 meals out of this! I will definitely return as it is close to my work and the food is good. Had better BBQ down south but this place is fresh, tasty and a good value for your money.

A bit skeptical after all the negative reviews but I had coupon for a free sandwich and figured I would give it a shot. The comments about the poor service are spot on. Nobody was in line ahead of me and I waited 5 minutes while this dude cut meats. If you are sitting in front of a sign that says "order here" shouldn't someone be there to actually take your order. The pulled pork sandwich was dry and flavorless. Good thing it came with a drink to wash it down with. If your looking for good BBQ skip this place and head up the road to Zachary's.

Saw the spot being re-purposed in that empty store front. When I saw it was a BBQ place, I was very excited. When I tasted the food however, my excitement waned. The product idea is great. But, the actual ribs are tough. I like their sauces. I'm not sure what style of BBQ they are serving. But, I know all ribs are not fall of the bone. I do know that ribs shouldn't be tough no matter the prep or cooking style. I like the platter idea as well as the a la carte menu if you just want meats + sides. They have Free ice cream which is a novelty these days. The mac-n-cheese was ok, nothing to scream about. I think this fledgling business needs a little more time to perfect their model and cooking/food prep. Also, I wish they'd get out of the corner in that shopping center! You're not going to get any business (see the Indian restaurant?) in that spot.

I was definitely looking forward to a good new BBQ place in the area, but this place failed so miserably. I ordered online thinking it would save me some time, since that is what they recommended, but what an epic mistake. Order was confirmed for pickup for 5:55. I got to the restaurant at 5:50. I left at 7:25. That's not a typo, you read that right, 7:25. If I hadn't paid online I would have left. But they never indicated that it would take close to two hours, it was always 'working on it'. The owner never addressed the dozen people waiting for their pick up order until another customer waiting with us said something. Even then it was like pulling teeth to get some kind of compensation. They did end up comping the meal and offering half price on next order, but even with that I don't think I would go back. Even with my entire order not made ahead of time, it's dumbfounding that it took just shy of two hours. I believe I saw 75 customers go through the line and get their food before me. Just sheer incompetence from top to bottom. They didn't even get our order right. I would strongly not recommend this place. It's just not worth the wait. Zachery's might be a little more expensive, but at least you can get your food timely and it's just as good if not better. (Granted any food you have to wait two hours for leaves a bad taste)

I got excited for a BBQ place in the area (I didn't hear of Zachary's yet) and we decided to get some for dinner Friday night. There wasn't much of a line. A few people at each "station". It took awhile for them to get to us to cut our meat. I guess it's good that the meat is cut to order, but that was about it. We got the picnic basket with brisket, potatoes and caesar salad. The brisket was dry and they didn't give us sauce. The potatoes were normal and the caesar salad was a joke. The worst part was the service. The person making the sides looked swamped and the 2 managers were just standing there staring off to space and yelling at her. The person at the register (right next to the counter with the sides) didn't even try to help. Overall, it probably took 30 mins to get our already pre-cooked meal. Boston Market has a very similar service set-up yet they get you in and out so fast. I was going to go back and try a different meat, but since I read the reviews here and found out about Zachary's, I'll be heading over there instead.

TERRIBLE!!! Each time I have gone they have been out of something, ham, ribs, Mac n cheese!! How do u run out of ribs at a BBQ place?! Every time the staff has been extremely rude and the owner is the rudest of them all not to mention the slowest person to ever cut meat!!! The Mac n cheese is KFC's Mac n cheese, the BBQ sauce tastes like catsup not to mention the containers they store it in are way too hot!!! Went there for the last time and not only almost burned myself on the sauce but no one was moping up the puddle of water in the entrance from the portable air conditioners they had set up...it was a lawsuit waiting to happen!!! Not to mention...they were out of ham!!! I will never go here again! Prices n food are horrible!!! If u want good BBQ reasonable prices and incredible customer service...GO TO ZACHARY'S!!!!

Not the best but decent BBQ. We got the beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. The brisket was better but wasn't as good as I've had in other places, seemed like it was missing some flavor. But we added some of their BBQ sauce which had a nice spice and it was a good sandwich overall. We enjoyed the baked beans and the Mac and cheese. We would consider going back to try some other items on the menu.

Im down
